Large End-Grain Walnut Cutting Board 20" x 13" x 1-1/4"
Large End-Grain Walnut Cutting Board 20" x 13" x 1-1/4"
This handmade end-grain Walnut cutting board will help protect your knives and look great while doing it. This end-grain cutting board is also the perfect addition to your kitchen, with its many options you can design it to fit your needs. For example, as is, you can use both sides. Add a juice groove and you can slice up that juicy roast or slice up that crusty bread, keeping the juices or crumbs off the counter and the other side for your veggies. Or add feet so the bottom of your cutting board always stays dry and is less likely to slip while chopping. If feet are not ordered, consider adding a matching stand. Or any combination of the available options. Every board comes with finger grooves on the sides to make it easier to pick up. I also include a tin of my homemade board wax at no additional cost.
Pictures show the cutting board with an optional juice groove, rubber feet, and a cutting board stand. The standard board does not come with a juice groove, rubber feet, or a stand.
Each cutting board is constructed as shown in the image. While style and wood choice will be the same, color and grain pattern may differ from the image. This is due to naturally occurring differences in the wood, making each cutting board one of a kind. So the item you receive may differ from the image. No stains are used but the oil finish will darken the wood.
Board Dimensions are 20"x13"x1-1/4" (the finished product will be within 1/8" of these dimensions).
These boards are made to order and will ship by either UPS or USPS shipping. Shipping is included. However, I do charge a $20.00 handling fee for international shipments to cover the increased shipping cost.
5 reasons why you should purchase a wood cutting board.
1. They will help your knives stay sharp and End-Grain Cutting Boards are the best at doing this. The fibers in a wood board will not wear down your knives as the hard plastic surface does.
2. They do not wear out like plastic cutting boards. You cannot cut up wood boards as easily as plastic so no permanent grooves. Unlike plastic boards, wood cutting boards can also be refinished and repaired to look like new.
3. If cared for properly they are more sanitary. Those grooves in a plastic board can hide bits of food or bacteria. The natural properties of wood fight this bacteria.
4. A wood cutting board will look and function as well as it did on day one many years later if properly taken care of. Unlike a plastic board that is meant to be used and eventually replaced over and over again.
5. And let’s be honest they look better than a piece of plastic.
All cutting boards are finished with Food Grade Mineral Oil and Beeswax. Mineral Oil does not become rancid and when combined with Beeswax forms a highly moisture-resistant finish. However, wood cutting boards should never be cleaned in a dishwasher or soaked. Simply wash it with hot soapy water, rinse, and dry. Further care instructions will be included with your order to help ensure your cutting board will last for many years.
